The Seattle Public Library launches 'Teen News'

The Seattle Public Library next week will launch "Teen News," an electronic newsletter for teens, parents and anyone who works with teens. The first issue will go out Jan. 19.

Anyone can subscribe to the newsletter. To subscribe, go to www.spl.org, select "Teens" from the "Audiences" menu, and look for the blue "Sign up for Teen News" icon on the right side of the page.

The newsletter will include a variety of information, including highlights of Library online resources and information about teen services and programs.

"Teens and anyone who works with teens should sign up for this great newsletter," said Jennifer Bisson, teen librarian at the Central Library. "It's an easy way to learn all about the many resources we have for teens here at the Library."

The first issue features free homework help, which is available in English and Spanish through the Library's Web site seven days a week and in person at 11 Library branches. The newsletter also tells teens how to sign up for free popular SAT practice test sessions and gives the dates of free Library events celebrating comics, graphic novels, and the artists who make them.

The Library already sends a similar electronic newsletter to adult readers. Sign up for the monthly Library News for adult readers by selecting "Using the Library," "Get Started," "Sign up for email newsletters & podcasts," "Subscribe to Library News or Teen News."
