By opening the parking garage during hours when the Central Library is closed, the Library is implementing the parking plan for the building approved in May 2003 by The Seattle Public Library board of trustees.
"These changes will increase revenue from the parking garage and make better use of the space," said Marilynne Gardner, the Library's chief financial and administrative officer. "Parking can be hard to find downtown and the library is in a convenient location. We are happy to work with AMPCO to provide good spots at reasonable prices."
AMPCO System Parking manages the garage for the Library.
